Nothing goes better together than Thanksgiving and football

So today’s intro is written by none other than our resident gators fan, Garret.

The Week Where Everything Traditionally Falls Apart:

Guys, it’s going to be a crazy weekend. Happy Thanksgiving! I remember years ago where Colorado stomped on Nebraska on the Friday after Thanksgiving to win the Big 12 North (remember when there used to be divisions in that weird bastard child of the old Southwest Conference???) only for Nebraska to then somehow get into the National Championship game and play Miami…the last time they were relevant too. Do any of these three schools even play football anymore?

(I’m kidding guys. Colorado is the PAC-12 whipping boy, Nebraska is one of the BIG whipping boys, and Miami hasn’t won the ACC yet).

Anyway, let’s get to the picks. I can’t wait to once again not commit to the upset here on the website, only to beat myself up over after it happens.

CFP Rankings

This week’s games are

#1 Clemson @ South Carolina
#2 Alabama @ Auburn
#3 Iowa @ Nebraska
#4 Notre Dame @ #13 Stanford
#5 Oklahoma @ #9 Oklahoma State
#6 Michigan St v Penn St
#7 Baylor @ #15 TCU
#8 Ohio St @ #12 Michigan
#10 Florida v #14 Fla State

Georgia @ Ga Tech
Tennessee v Vandy
Texas v Texas Tech
#16 Navy @ #21 Houston **
#19 Ole Miss @ #23 Miss St

** We’re picking Navy and Houston this week for two reasons. 1) Chris and Myles Swain, who play for Navy, attended Mt de Sales for high school.  2) Navy has a huge change to play spoiler for Houston

Sarah, from Venus Trapped in Mars, is back to help us pick these last few weeks of college ball. Hopefully both of her teams, the Vols and the Cowboys, will pull out Ws (knock on wood) and the Big D will have a super happy Sarah come Monday.

Molly’s Picks
not picking this week

Katie’s Picks
#1 Clemson @ South Carolina
#2 Alabama @ Auburn Alabama, without a doubt, has proven to be the better of these two teams this year. But with this being the premier SEC rivalry, I wouldn’t put anything past GusGus and the Tigers/Plainsmen/whatever they are. I think Bama wins but it’ll be a dogfight until the closing minutes……or should I say seconds?
#3 Iowa @ Nebraska
#4 Notre Dame @ #13 Stanford
#5 Oklahoma @ #9 Oklahoma State
#6 Michigan St v Penn St
#7 Baylor @ #15 TCU
#8 Ohio St @ #12 Michigan Oh, how I hope Michigan wins this game. 1) Because I can’t stand Meyer and 2) because I want them to further solidify the fact that Ohio St winning the championship last year was a pure fluke. #cupcakeschedule
#10 Florida v #14 Fla State

Georgia @ Ga Tech
Tennessee v Vandy
Texas v Texas Tech
#16 Navy @ #21 Houston Two words, two simple words. SWAIN TRAIN.
#19 Ole Miss @ #23 Miss St

Garret’s Picks
#1 Clemson @ South Carolina and the impending Clemson moment is postponed
#2 Alabama @ Auburn There’s no way in hell Auburn wins this game. Alabama wins, and they’re playing Florida for the SEC title.
#3 Iowa @ Nebraska Iowa plays the Cornhuskers, and they’re going to get scared. However, Iowa wins it.
#4 Notre Dame @ #13 Stanford Stanford eliminates Notre Dame and we all celebrate
#5 Oklahoma @ #9 Oklahoma State Oklahoma loses to Oklahoma State and everyone continues to laugh at the joke of the Big 12’s champion in 2015.
#6 Michigan St v Penn St Michigan State actually leads this game for more than 0 seconds, as they’ll roll against Penn State
#7 Baylor @ #15 TCU Wasn’t the Baylor and TCU game going to be the matchup of the season? Too bad both failed. Baylor stomps on the Horned Frogs
#8 Ohio St @ #12 Michigan Ohio State will beat Michigan, but it’ll be one of the best games in the history of this rivalry.
#10 Florida v #14 Fla State Florida beats Florida State, and by God, it’s going to happen. I KNOW IT SEEMS UNLIKELY RIGHT NOW.

Georgia @ Ga Tech Georgia and Georgia Tech are both still playing football this year? Oh that’s cute. Tech wins though.
Tennessee v Vandy Tennessee beats the brakes off of Vanderbilt.
Texas v Texas Tech Texas will need a new head coach, as Charlie Strong and company lose to Texas Tech in a big way.
#16 Navy @ #21 Houston Katie, why are we picking this game? (Flips a coin). Navy wins.
#19 Ole Miss @ #23 Miss St The Egg Bowl will go to Mississippi State! Ole Miss loses again, hilariously.
