And For a Different Twist: Me in a Hoop Skirt

Yes. I am serious. Me in a hoop skirt. And full on 1860’s-Gone-With-the-Wind regalia.

See?  I wasn’t kidding.

Why I am wearing this? I am playing the part of Mary Evans Glass, one of the founders of my sorority – Alpha Delta Pi (http://www.alphadeltapi.org/ )- for Historic Riverside Cemetery’s Spirits in October. This is a tour which showcases local actors playing the parts of, well, shall we say “residents” of the cemetery  I get to talk about Mrs. Glass attending Wesleyan College- the first institution in the world to grant degrees to women- and the founding of ADPi.

If you are in Macon and want to see me, I am working the late shift tonight and tomorrow and the 27th. Other locals include Jessica Walden, Harold Goodridge, Liz Fabian, Louise Warren and more.

Meanwhile… the hoop skirt. It’s interesting. It’s actually cooler (temperature wise) than I would have expected. At least I’m not having to wear a corset… although that could be fun in another way….
