Miss Molly’s Bragg Jam Schedule… Complete With Problems

Damn you Bragg Jam.

Why do you always schedule bands at the same time that I want to seeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?!

The first ones I notice are *repeat repeat and Floco Torres.

Screw y’all.

I met two of the members of *repeat repeat last year in Nashville and they are just darling people, and amazing musicians.

Their song “Not The One” is one that has been the ONE for ME so many times that my kids now know the words and can sing along.

But they play at the same time as my very favorite friend Floco Torres and his Big Band. His performance last year made me cry, not just because I loved it, not just because he did once of my favorite songs of his, but because it was when I looked around and saw so many of my friends- so much of what I LOVE about Macon- and realized some of them would be leaving me soon. Almost all of them are back this weekend for a reunion. Roger, Angel, and Melanie- it’s going to be damn good to see y’all again.

Floco- I know you may be tired of this song but for sentimental reasons can you play it again?

But also he’s got new music, which will be awesome:

Ok so let’s just dive right on in with my very wishful, very ambitious, and likely not all going to happen Bragg Jam line up:

Charles Davis- 2:00 – 2:45 – at Bearfoot Tavern Beer Garden

I’m not a huge fan of the phrase “panty dropper” but if any musician was one, it’s this guy. Check out his soulful sound that I get to brag I first heard years ago when he was the best man in my brother’s wedding. And sang on cue at the demand of my brother.

Cicada Rhythm (acoustic) – 4:00 – 5:00 – at Just Tap’d

I first caught this duo in Athens during Wildwood Festival and fell in love with their sound immediately. I’m catching them at this time because they will conflict with other items later.

Zale – 6:00 – 6:45 – at Taste & See

I heard her at The Hummingbird a few weekends ago and didn’t stick around because I was tired and trying to escape an overly ambitious drunk overage frat boy, but from what I heard I was impressed. This will also be a great place to sit and catch some food. And coffee. Coffeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Floco Torres Big Band – 7:15 – 8:30 – at Cox Capitol Theatre

Again, all was said above. Shout out to my boy right here because I love him and respect all the hard work he has put in. Macon if y’all don’t show him some love I swear I will beat y’all and never return.

*repeat repeat – 7:30 – 8:15 – Bearfoot

Maybe pull off a miracle and run over here in between Floco’s sets??? At least the venues aren’t far from each other….

**take refuel break for water and Red Bull…. watch all the fun drunks people

Water Liars – 9:00 – 10:15 – Grant’s Lounge

Another one that I saw at Wildwood in Athens and fell in LOVE with. Excited about this. They have a sound that makes you want to cry and smile for joy all at once. First heard them during a break up and this song still reminds me of it.

Rainbow Kitten Surprise – 10:15 – 11:30 – The Library Ballroom

I know nothing about them other than friends say they are cool, so let’s check it out.

Leave early and head to see one of my favorites…..

Lee Bains III and the Glory Fires – 10:45 – 12:00 – Grant’s Lounge

It’s going to be amazing to see these guys in Grant’s, they just rock it out SUPER hard and have this amazing Southern sound.

THEN there’s going to be a “secret” (pretty sure I know who) guest DJ at Roasted and I DAMN SURE will be there for that!!

Well, this is my schedule… what’s yours?

Love to all y’all,

Molly
